The key to the Endgame quests is really that Marcella will complete them somehow. The real question is how she completes them and what other quests will be completed in the process.

Whatever path Marcella takes will eventually lead her to a confrontation with Alek Endhelm, who is trying to capture her so he can deliver her alive to Albrecht. Alek does not precisely know why Albrecht needs Marcella. If Marcella knows or guesses what Albrecht wants with her, she can make extra choices based on what she knows. If she cannot reach an agreement with Alek, she will have to fight him. Alek will be easier to convince all of his Enders and his nameless followers are dead. The more '[[Characters:Factions:Endhelm's Enders|marks]]' she has collected, the more likely he is to bargain with her. He is trying to wound rather than kill her, so the fight will end if either Alek or Marcella reaches one hit point.

If Marcella is trying to complete [[Quests:Dun Barethsol:The Catseyes|The Catseyes]] quest, her goal will be to defeat Alek and then deliver him to Kord Blackhammer.
Whatever path Marcella takes will eventually lead her to a confrontation with Alek Endhelm, who is trying to capture her so he can deliver her alive to Albrecht. When she first meets him, he will be surprised and starts talking to her. At that point, Marcella will finally learn from whom she recieved the Letter, if she does not know already. Based on how much she knows already, she will be able to extract more information from the few details Alek is able to provide.


If she is trying to complete [[Quests:Dun Barethsol:The Yetin Spirit|The Yetin Spirit]] quest, she can attempt to capture Alek and deliver him for trial to the Wyvern Guard or the Dwarves, kill him, or defeat him and force him lead her through the swamp to the Misty Tower
During the conversation, Alek will have the upper hand, unless Marcella has managed to collect some of the '[[Characters:Factions:Endhelm's Enders|Enders' marks]]'. Only then will she be able to propose an alliance without having to fight Alek first. Even if she killed his Enders, he will not surrender to be delivered to the Wyvern Guard or the Dwarves.


If she is trying to help the [[Quests:Dun Barethsol:The Way of The Knife|Society of the Blade]], she can begin the confrontation by trying to rob him. If she wins, she can kill him, capture him and deliver him to the Society for ransom, deliver him to the Dwarves, or threaten to kill him if he does not agree to help her capture Ella. She cannot deliver him to the Wyvern Guard and remain loyal to the Society.

If she loses, she can try to ally with him again or fight her way out of the camp once she rests and heals.
Alek would be the toughest opponent Marcella met so far, somewhat stronger than she. ''[What weapon and armour is he using?]''. If Marcella is not already involved in [[Quests:Dun Barethsol:The Catseyes|The Catseyes]] quest, she may find the weapon of an unlucky adventurer in the castle: [[Items:Weapons:Thorig's Mace|Thorig's Mace]].
