Quests:Dun Barethsol:Endhelm's Endgame

Author of the Letter

Whatever path Marcella takes will eventually lead her to a confrontation with Alek Endhelm, who is trying to capture her so he can deliver her alive to Albrecht. When she first meets him, he will be surprised and starts talking to her. At that point, Marcella will finally learn from whom she recieved the Letter, if she does not know already. Based on how much she knows already, she will be able to extract more information from the few details Alek is able to provide.

During the conversation, Alek will have the upper hand, unless Marcella has managed to collect some of the 'Enders' marks'. Only then will she be able to propose an alliance without having to fight Alek first. Even if she killed his Enders, he will not surrender to be delivered to the Wyvern Guard or the Dwarves.

Combat

Alek would be the toughest opponent Marcella met so far, somewhat stronger than she. [What weapon and armour is he using?]. If Marcella is not already involved in The Catseyes quest, she may find the weapon of an unlucky adventurer in the castle: Thorig's Mace.

As Albrecht wants Marcella alive, Alek is trying to wound rather than kill her, so the fight will end if either Alek or Marcella reaches one hit point.

• If Marcella wins the fight, she may take him to Kord Blackhammer in order to finish The Lord's Command quest. To complete The Yetin Spirit quest, she'll have to deliver him to Jelom of the Wyvern Guard. Only if she is runs an errand from the Society of the Blade, she has the chance to ally with Alek after defeating him.
• Should she lose the fight, Alek will strip her of all posessions and take her to the Lancer Camp, from where she has to escape in order to survive.

Alliance

In the case that Alek can be talked into an alliance, or when Marcella is following the evil path and beats him in combat, Marcella may ask him to bring her to Lord Albrecht. To get there, they will have to cross the Misty Swamp.

Will Alek disclose more information about Albrecht's plans in that case? So that Marcella could 'prepare' herself and aquire Ella's blood?
