Bregon is the guard the player hears about, but never sees. He always seems to be in Erinsford when the player is in Waste's Edge and Waste's Edge should the player ever journey to Erinsford. He is a messenger and the most junior of the three ranking guards.

Bregon, like every other native of Erinsford, had a surname. He dropped it when he tried to become a Forestkeeper of dunVelain. He did not pass into the clans of the Watchful, but he continues to use the skills gained as a Novice of the Watchful. He is now known as Bregon the Swift, or simply Bregon Swift. He moves quickly when afoot and moves even more quickly on horseback. His facility for quick movement is a matter of some renown, but it is offset somewhat by his lack of eye-hand coordination. There is a joke common in Waste's Edge and among the Erinsford town guard: "Bregon Swift could gallop a mule. The horses he's saddled would prefer that he did."

Talan and Bregon get along. Though Bregon keeps quiet about his Forestkeeper training, hiding it from everyone but Andare and other rangers, Talan has gotten a sense that Bregon had something to do with them once. Their friendship is the more cordial for this fact. Bregon and Jelom do not get along. The joke about the horses, told by Jelom, is biting and almost malicious, whereas Talan, Andare, and others, tell the same joke with kind amusement. Jelom has detected some of the same Ranger oddity that Talan recognized. His dislike of Bregon is the greater for it, though he only knows that he doesn't like Bregon. He can't explain why, nor does he care to try.

Like Talan, Bregon would leave the service of Albrecht if he knew his plans.

Of the available speaking NPCs, Andare is the most reliable source of information about Bregon because Bregon tried to join the Keepers of dunVelain. Andare is a member of this Band of the Keepers.
