The signet ring given to Marcella by Ynar as a token of her interest in helping the Dwarves with their problem is typical of the diplomatic rings the Dwarven clans use among themselves. Of course, no one in Waste's Edge, other than Ynar himself, is likely to know that, only that the ring is too valuable to buy and too dangerous to steal.

Because the ring was made by Dwarves to worn on a Dwarven thumb, it is too large and heavy for anyone else to wear. The ring is essentially a cube of 14 karat gold with large gemstones set into each of the four faces through which a finger or chain doesn't need to pass. These four stones are emerald, diamond, ruby, and sapphire.

There are always several Uzdun'kalat signet rings in existence. If one is lost to treachery or violence, another is crafted in its place.

Though they are beautiful, these rings have no special properties. Ynar is not required to give the Signet to the person he recruits, but he may if he chooses.
