The Medallion once belonged to Ella's knight. Now it and his axe are all that hold the remains of his spirit to this world. If the medallion and the axe are removed from the Golem, it will disintegrate. Once the golem has returned to the earth, Marcella can either use the items herself or lay them to rest in the Paladin's Grotto.
