By itself, the Guemull is a relatively harmless creature. It has a well-developed appetite, but it is not evil. Only in the presence of an ancient, concentrated evil like the Grendal does the simple guemull become a threat to anything that goes about on two legs.

From Cirrus' original description:

Guemulls (which roughly means "monster" in Korean) are odd looking creatures that wander forest paths. They mostly look quite harmless and will approach you with the innocent curiosity of a child, but beware - they have an enormous mouth and like to swallow unsuspecting prey whole!

Guemulls are mostly green and not especially strong, however they have the curious property that if one Guemull swallows another it turns red and becomes much stronger (as if it absorbs the strength of the one it has eaten). If you allow this to happen you will be faced with a formidable enemy!

Grasping Vine

The Grasping vine is a kind of carnivorous plant that typically feeds on large insects and small rodents. It attracts insects by luring them with a noxious scent. It attacks larger prey by laying its spined outrunners across and animal paths and paralyzing anything that comes within a few inches of the vines.

Like other generally innocuous plants and animals found elsewhere in the forests of old Galoril, the Grasping Vine is not inherently evil. It wants only to survive. However, because the vines in the Misty Swamp are so near to the Grendal, they have grown in size, in potency, and in appetite.

Like most plants, they feed on water, but can be destroyed by intense fire and wind. To the Dwarves and Runebadgers of Uzdun'kal, they are nuisances, but little more. The Humans of Waste's Edge, however, take a different view. They do not let their children wander too near the paths into the "forgotten" forest, lest the vines overcome small bodies and weak constitutions.

Grendaling

The Grendalings are a peculiar perversion of the human form. Each of the Grendalings was once a Human being who wandered into the Misty Swamp. The magick of the place and their contact with the Grendal changed them forever.

They became Grendalings, gaining a third eye and losing all by the most passing resemblance to Men. Now, they are quite large and dangerous monster. Their skin is slimy, a bit like a toad or frog. The slime they secrete is highly poisonous so physical contact should be avoided at all costs. Their weakness is that they can never venture far from the water since they needs to be able to suck moisture from the ground to prevent themselves from drying out. As such they are vulnerable against any kind of heat, like fire and lightning, but are nearly impervious to water-based attacks.

Poglin

The poglin is a swamp creature with a mischievous, evil disposition. Its intelligence is above the average for the creatures around it. It moves by slithering on its belly and pulling itself along with its claws. It can also use its claws to climb up its prey and attack the head and eyes of its victims.

It attacks primarily by biting, but sometimes attacks with its tail as well. The tail contains a stinger and a gland of paralytic poison. In larger, older poglins, the poison may have the power to kill rather than paralyze.

Poglins are found throughout the marshy shore-country of the Galorean Sea. In the Misty Swamp, they are even more prolific. The Grendal eats Poglins, so they have developed a fear of and hatred for two-legged creatures. They tend to hunt in groups of four, five, or six. One member of this group is more powerful than the others, having a stronger bite, a more potent sting, or both.

Poglins have two major predators: bears and wolves. They fear anything that smells or feels like one.
