Characters:Adonthell:Raveneye
Raveneye Riverbend
Raveneye is a 15 year old (in human terms) scout who works in the forests not far from Cirdanth. He is a boy connected closely with nature, and is adept as a tracker, hunter and steward of the woods. Although his work involves guiding groups of hunters, usually humans, through the woods he loves so much, Raveneye is able to use this as an opportunity to minimize the damage such invaders do to his beloved wilderness. By only guiding his charges on certain paths, he is able to make it simpler for the great majority of animals to avoid the party while still providing his customers with an enjoyable adventure. Raveneye sees himself as responsible for the well-being of his forest and, to an extent, the natural world in general. When forces threaten this world, Raveneye is duty-bound to seek out the cause.
Introductory Plot
The plot begins with Raveneye entering the camp of a group of hunters. Raveneye has been acting as a guide for them, and he is quite a good one. He understands the ways of the forest and is able to lead the hunters to good herds which can survive being hunted. He is relaxing with the hunters when a man runs into camp. He reports that an animal has gone mad and is attacking a nearby settlement. Raveneye runs to help and ends up having to fight the beast (practice fight) with plenty of advice from the hunters. Raveneye is disturbed by this event, and he notes that he has been seeing cases of unusually aggressive behaviour in animals for some time. One of the hunters informs him that he has heard of the Council in Cirdanth searching for adventurers for a mission of some kind and Raveneye, wondering if this is connected to the trouble in the forest, is determined to go.
