Overview
Elgilad is the very heart of Elvendom. All the great schools of Elvish thought meet there. Some have outposts elsewhere - in Aerengist, in Cirdanth, in Tanath, Ninieth, and the City of Gems - but only Elgilad hosts them all.
Elgilad, besides being the heart of Elvish civilization, is also a country in its own right. Though it has always been the smallest of the several Kingdoms, it has also always been first among them.
The city sits at the crossroads of the Great South Road, the River Road, and the Ylan River. These three arteries of trade connect it with Uzdun'kal, Cirdanth, Aerengist, the City of Gems, Ninieth, Cross Plains, Norsheim-on-Forod, and even Fiorae.
