Really, he doesn't care about the theft or the fate of the people involved, he wants to leave the Redwyne Inn to go meet his caravan at its next stop on the way to Cirdanth. The longer he waits here, the longer his caravan has to wait for him and the more money he loses. So he isn't interested in an investigation, he just wants to get it over with fast.
