Overview
The Ether allows communication between different characters, both player and computer controlled.

none
Requirements
- multiple types of communication possible (magic, speech, etc)
- broadcast or point-to-point (individual or group) communication
- limited or unlimited range
- reception of messages is dependend on individual characters (spell effects may hinder reception temporarily, etc.)
- messages audible to the player are rendered on-screen
- messages audible to NPCs may affect behaviour (schedules)
- can be used
- to coordinate attack of multiple creatures in combat
- for NPCs uttering words
- for chatting in multiplayer environment
