Tristan is a trader who is adamant that this affair be dealt with quickly and harshly, and isn't afraid to say so. Really, he doesn't care about the theft or the fate of the people involved, he wants to leave the trading post to go meet his caravan at its next stop. The longer he waits here, the longer his caravan has to wait for him and the more money he loses. So he isn't interested in an investigation, he just wants to get it over with fast.
